Signed Incidence Two-Bit Addendum
When do two simultaneous Boolean distinctions preserve an order complex, and when can an odd-characteristic test miss an obstruction?

A focused addition to Binary Order Thinning
Binary Order Thinning asks when removing comparisons according to a Boolean observation preserves a finite order complex. Its one-bit recognition theorem and seven-state integrally neutral noncollapse remain unchanged. This addendum studies a different, explicitly restricted simultaneous two-bit regime.
The new witness is not integrally neutral. Its relative first homology is Z/2, although both endpoint complexes have the homotopy type of a circle. Their inclusion has degree two, so knowing the two endpoint homotopy types does not determine whether the inclusion preserves the structure.
What the addendum proves
- For a finite poset of height at most two, with no triangle losing all three edges, the relative boundary has a signed-incidence form. If b and u count rootless balanced and rootless unbalanced components, its integral relative first homology is Z^b plus u copies of Z/2; the second is free of rank m - r + b.
- In this restricted regime, integral acyclicity, characteristic-two acyclicity, a rooted-forest condition, simplicial collapse and homotopy equivalence of the inclusion are equivalent. Acyclicity over a field of characteristic different from two is weaker.
- An explicit nine-state poset realizes the exceptional case. The full relative matrix has Smith form diag(1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,2), not merely a determinant-two minor. Every deleted edge belongs to two deleted triangles, so no relative elementary collapse can start.
- Each endpoint collapses to a circle, but the inclusion acts by multiplication by plus or minus two on first homology. The construction realizes the classical Mobius-strip boundary obstruction within the specified Boolean thinning rule.
Structure, prediction and execution
Homotopy neutrality is a structural condition, not an information-gain score. Under noiseless observations, the actual fibers, prior and prediction target determine optimal success. Tests and their costs are additional data: two libraries can generate the same discrete topology yet have different optimal acquisition costs. A simultaneous block and its sequential implementations also require separate admissibility checks.
These examples clarify the boundaries of Observation Refinement, Logical Topology and Acquirable Predictive Models. They do not change those manuscripts’ theorems or execution contracts. The observation four-cycle addendum concerns a separate secondary-map construction with different hypotheses.
Evidence and limits
On 9 November 2026, two new independent internal AI reviewers each read the complete exact final source and computed its SHA-256. The proof and adversarial passes found no supported fatal, major or required minor mathematical correction. The dated final-file review supplement and hash-bound receipt describe the independent checks, resolved prior requests and limits. No manuscript, PDF or original archive revision was required. This is internal AI review; external human specialist review and historical priority remain open.
In the original review round, two internal AI reviewers completed mathematical and hostile attribution/interpretation reviews of supplied draft text and exact amendments. Their supported objections were closed. They did not independently hash the final files, execute the final code, inspect the PDF or complete a fresh literature search. The authoring agent performed execution and layout checks separately; the only later manuscript change clarified this provenance. These are not external human peer reviews or proof-assistant certification.
This website preparation reran both exact standard-library Python implementations in an isolated copy. Two full unimodular Smith certificates, determinant 2, inclusion pairing -2, individual-bit unit minors and four execution matrices passed. The regenerated mathematical results match the release; computation time differs. These finite checks corroborate the proofs and are not an exhaustive minimum-size search.
Signed-graph algebra, rooted forests, collapse methods and the Mobius-strip mechanism have classical antecedents. Historical priority is unresolved. Nine states is a certified upper bound, not a minimum. The height and triangle restrictions are essential to the stated recognition theorem. No physical safety, consciousness or general architectural advantage follows.
Place in B-Theory
An observation changes the distinctions represented in a finite model of Being. This addendum shows why preserving structural relationships cannot be inferred from an arbitrary coefficient field or from endpoint summaries alone. Its relation to The MIND remains a bounded mathematical one, not a cognitive or empirical validation.

The archive includes portable verifiers, certificates, a proof ledger, source comparisons, the public AI review summary, substantive responses and proposed companion notes. It retains its historical local-preparation wording; current navigation is supplied here separately. Public provenance records unchanged release hashes and five source-derived final-row repairs in the HTML conversion. All 173 native MathML expressions have exact TeX annotations. The PDF is untagged and specialist screen-reader testing remains outstanding.
